An Italian Family
Sabatino Tartufi was founded in 1911 when Sabatino Balestra and his wife Giuseppina opened their first store in Umbria and began distributing specialty food products. As fate would have it, their own lands began to fruit truffles. Overwhelmed with passion for these unique gems of the kitchen, they set out to hunt truffles and craft high-quality truffle products for their customers to enjoy.

Truffles are among the rarest foods in the world. Revered since as far back as 1600 B.C., these remarkable fungi have earned their names: the “diamonds of the earth” and the “gems of the kitchen.”

Today, Sabatino Tartufi is the world's largest truffle specialist, and still family owned. We carry only the most highly regarded truffle species and offer a full range of premium truffle products used by the most renowned chefs on earth. The Largest Truffle
A Tuber magnatum pico weighing 1,786 g (62.99 oz), found in central Italy and, before evaporation, first reported at a staggering 1,890 g.
Sabatino Tartufi sold the champion truffle to a phone bidder from Chinese Taipei at Sotheby's New York for $61,250, including buyer's premium.

Nine years on, we proudly welcomed the largest white truffle of the 2022 season, weighing in at 1.1 kg.
As with our record-breaking find before it, we set out to auction the truffle and donate the proceeds to causes close to our hearts.
